Romeo and Juliet

Luigi’s club is the Drama Guild. Here they do pantomimes, face painting, working with props. Their most recent activity is the play “Romeo and Juliet“. The teacher auditioned them to choose who was right for the characters. Luigi was chosen as Romeo!

This Friday, they have to memorize their lines, so that they can start with the blocking and acting part. Last night, I planned to start Luigi on this work. I asked if he has started memorizing yet, and he said not yet. I was thinking of allotting him 2 hours for his 18 lines. But I didn’t know that I didn’t even need to start! Apparently, during their readings during the past 2 meetings, na-memorize niya na pala without even trying.

Last night, I saw him reading the pages. I asked him if he wasn’t finished yet.

“No I’m trying to memorize the lines of the other people.”
