When we were finished eating, we asked Luigi to lead the grace after meals. We all four bowed our heads and made the sign of the cross…

“Lord, thank you for the food that we just ate, and, uhmm, daddy’s turn…”

Haha you should have seen Dan’s face when he heard that! Parang… Ano?!

“You finish it na lang Luigi.”

So Luigi finished with something like “And even when it’s not our birthday, please make everyday a special day for all of us. Amen.”

Our ulam for that night was sinigang. The kids like it, mainly because of the soup. Miko eats the kangkong stalks, but Luigi doesn’t. So we were telling him to eat a bit of veggies. Syempre while we were telling him this, eto na si Mikong nagpapakabayani, kumuha ng kangkong at sinubo. Kamay, ha, walang kutsara. Linublob ang kanyang kamay sa bowl ng sinigang, na syempre may sabaw! Sabi ng daddy niya

“Miko, don’t get kangkong with your bare hands.”

“I’m not! I’m not a bear!”
