Charades

Bree gave the boys a new board game – Charades for Kids (thanks Bree). You need to act out simple things, like driving a car, slurping soup, flying, etc.

So, ok, Luigi’s turn… he sits down on the sofa, and opens his mouth wide, and… that’s it. Aaah, resting with your mouth open?

“No, it’s going to the dentist!”

Ito pa… he acts out that he’s dropping something. So we say, “You’re dropping something… a toy.”

“No, dropping a plate!”

So I explained that he has to set the scanario first, like maybe eating something first, then pointing to the plate, then dropping it. Or pointing to his teeth and making mumug then opening his mouth again…

They’re getting the hang of it now. It’s a good game, using their imagination and actions to set a scene before acting out the word. Pretty soon, we’ll progress to the actual charades na…
