Luigi’s diet

A couple of nights ago, Luigi told me that he feels heavy. So now we’ve put him on a semi-diet:

1. less rice, especially in the evening
2. wheat bread
3. grilled/boiled/baked/steamed food (including hotdogs mwahaha)
4. low fat milk for cereals
5. no more sinangag for him at breakfast (FYI, he likes sinangag sa asin)
6. start eating veggies
7. coke light

My point is this- better start him off on a semi-diet now, when he can still afford to make shortcuts… get him used to this healthier kind of eating… before the time comes when he really needs to go on a stricter diet.

He’s been quite cooperative. He asks if the food is fried or grilled. He tells us “Babawasan mo pa yung kanin ko” for his baon. He drinks more water than he used to.

But of course, how can I resist it if he says, “Mom, can I have a little more rice please? Just one small spoon?”

At ito pa: “Can I have dessert?” (his favorite now is skyflakes with condensed milk – joskopo!)

I want to say no, pero pano ko naman mapagkakait? Paano???

O Ninang Lani, baka umiiyak ka na naman ha?

  • Who’s The Friend?

We went to a birthday party today. (It’s the first birthday of our friend Royet’s daughter, Rocio.) Isn’t it interesting how kids seem to gain new best friends even if they’ve just met? The way they act, you’d think they’ve been friends for a long time…. well, almost. Miko: “Daddy, you know, we have a…

  • Swimming Lessons

The kids had their first swimming lessons last Wednesday. It’s at Gilmore Condominium, the building adjacent to the host of PC stores. There are only 4 of them studying in Basic Swimming, and I really think that’s a good ratio. Their lessons are every M-W-F-Sa x 3 weeks. Today was their second day. Luigi has…

  • Swimming Update

Miko has dropped out of his swimming classes… Let me rephrase that: We’ve decided that Miko should not continue his swimming lessons anymore. It seems that he’s not ready to venture into depths more that 3 feet. That’s perfectly okay (if not for the fact that the lessons are actually non-refundable). Better that than he…
